Classes

B: Beginner

We will start from absolute scratch. No experience is necessary at all. Just bring your interest and we will provide you with the basic frame-work. Simple steps, simple rhythms and kind teachers are guaranteed. The last years, most of the Beginners could understand German, so this lesson was thought in German. Please let the teachers know, which language you prefer. Usually Swinglish will be fine for everyone.

BI: Beginner/Intermediate

You have taken a few classes here and a few workshops there? You are familiar with the basic steps, but maybe with a lack of confidence to execute them? Than you will be very happy with the BI level.

I: Intermediate

This is the level for an average, amateur dancer with a few years of experience. New steps and combinations are on this level hopefully more a challenge than a threat. Do you feel comfortable to dance to any tempo? Do you automaticly doing Suzie-Qs while waiting for a bus and often descent a staircase doing Shorty-Geoges? Can you smile self content while doing Savoy-Kicks and surely know that Split-Kick-Jump is not the name of cocktail (but of course should be!)? Than welcome to intermediate level.

IA: Intermediate/Advanced

Did you dance the last 3 year in intermediate level and search for a level more challenging? Are you dancing with any partner at every swing party – letting your partner look good? Do you like faster tunes and stay on the floor even if the band plays Jeep Jockes Jump? Are you ready to show off in every jam session and make the crowd cheer due to your creative improvisations? Than choose IA level. There you will learn to do sophisticated moves to slow and fast music.

A: Advanced

Are you dancing for countless years, participated at any camp worldwide as often as possible and only a few teachers on earth can show you new steps? Do you have a good body awareness and are therefore able to quickly incorporate new moves? Do you have your own way of dancing, but are willing to try out other styles and techniques? Are you more interested in the quality of movement than in its quantity? Do you love to show your favourite aerials within every cats corner, claim a faster encore after Sing, Sing, Sing followed by Renaissance In Harlem and then kick off with I hope Gabriel likes my Music?
If your answers to these questions are: Yes, yes, yeeeeeess! then welcome to our advanced level.

Taster

This year again we offer tasters for other dancing courses.

These tasters are suitable for all advanced levels (BI, I, IA, A).
We will explain how to register for the taster in a newsletter short time before the festival begins.

Registration for that can soon be done online (that's new for 2011! However, it is still possible at check-in), themed: "Fist come, first swinging!"

Just use your registered email address and ID number and choose one of our 5 Taster classes here. Have a look at the registration email for the login information (email address and ID number).

Body Percussion

with Sina Rade

Even before "Stomp" the body has been used as a drum and the hands and feet for talking. Clapping, stomping, snapping, slapping, vocalisations - these are the most important sounds for body percussion. Groovy! The whole body becomes rhythm in motion, and we play with the coordination of top-tail, heavy-easy, beat-offbeat. Knots in the brain? Possible. But laughing along is guaranteed! Effect for Lindy Hop? For sure: coordination and timing are being schooled, as well as the awareness for your partner. Just give it a whirl! This year body drumming is mixed with easy tap steps.

Level: BI bis A — No partner required. No tap shoes!
